Data as a utility

We’re very excited to announce our new Data-as-a-Utility platform.

As Socrata’s CEO and Founder, Kevin Merritt, explains, “The age of Data-as-a-Utility has arrived in the public sector, and it’s the long-awaited platform synthesis of a wide variety of government data programs, including open data, big data projects, and internal data sharing. That’s why Data-as-a-Utility is clearly a global asset of national and international significance.”

Designed exclusively with and for data-driven digital governments, the new cloud-based SaaS platform, which consists of five major next-generation breakthroughs, will dramatically accelerate the shift to high-performance, high-efficiency, and high-return government on nearly every continent.

It’s a transformative moment for data. As Kevin Merritt observes, “In the past, governments have turned water, electricity, and transportation into utilities, and now it’s data’s turn. So, going forward, you can expect to see governments of all sizes using an abundance of data to create economic prosperity for the people they serve, to create new opportunities academically for children, to create safer, more livable cities — and to create a better standard of living for everybody.”

We look forward to showing you what the new platform can do.
