Today is the Data Transparency Coalition Summit. Open data champions and activists from all over the country have gathered to celebrate the passing of the DATA Act, which goes to the president to sign this week, and discuss the next steps of implementation and the future of data transparency.

We are here all day, live-tweeting. You can follow along by checking out Socrata on Twitter. You can also follow along with the hashtag #datasummit14.

Have questions about the DATA Act, the Summit, or any other open data topic? Tweet at us or leave a comment and we’ll track down the answer.

Also, look for a full report on the summit, coming later this week.

As Senator Mark Warner said in his remarks this morning, “Following the money is extremely important. We need to let in a little more sunlight, be transparent, and provide common standards for the American taxpayer. We all deserve this. If every major enterprise can follow the money, so should the federal government.”
